Gelbe Autozimmer

Gelbe Autozimmer

A few weeks ago, I was away for work for a couple of days. I came back late at night and the next morning, sitting at breakfast with Rahi, I said, Rahi, I really missed you.

Me too, he said.

And this morning, I said, I would like to play with you. All morning, just the two of us. If you want.

Ya! he said. I want. Just the two of us!

Just the two of us, I said.

Mama, he said, turning to Annika, Papa and I are going to play. Just the two of us. You’re not allowed.

And then we went to the Gelbe Autozimmer (his name for the room he plays in, it translates to Yellow Car Room, god knows why he’s called it that) and we played.

At one point, he climbed all over me, using me as a climbing frame, and when he was more or less standing on my head, he looked down thoughtfully.

I think I’m doing this, he said, because I love you so much.
